Going medieval on a gas tank?

Finally getting all the rust out of a tank?

Making a larger capacity tank?

Trifecta! What did I win? :)

"hard-edged" Ooo, sounds dangerous. I created a concave-top tank with my tailbone once. Reduced fuel capacity by about a quart.

I have no interest in shaping metal, that's why it'll be all straight and hard-edged. I saw a coffin tank picture floating around, it'll be similar in design. Just not as morbid...

Aside from the six months of fresh air, I filled it with water a few times when I took it off and shook the hell out of it. Any fumes left wouldn't be an issue. I put a propane flame in the neck of an empty tank once. I'm alive, but it made one hell of a whoosh out the filler cap!

Bad bad bad - unburnt fuel could still remain. Water is your best friend.

Edit: to be more specific, the fumes in general are not inert

Dry nitrogen purg is safest. Looks like he ventilated pretty well with a sawzall though:)

Ok, now that is really looking dangerous! :) Not finished, I know. ;) Jack The Ripper tank mod!

Plasma cutter is the word for a lot of jobs, beats refilling oxy/acet tanks and all the expense that goes with that. Just need a new carbon rod once in a while, and an air compressor.
