Engine or frame, whichever it fits the best. Would need to look at my bike to see what I did with it.

That should be a ground for the fan motor.
My bike has two smaller fans side-by-side. It's an '06. Was this a change made after '04, or do I have some aftermarket fans on mine?

Has to be aftermarket.

I don't think I've ever had that wire off the bike. Never knew it was there until you got me curious enough to look. Mine lands under the head of the bottom radiator mounting bolt (92001A).

No kidding? I wonder if that's better than a single fan or not? I'll take a photo when the weather clears.
Could be considered better, if one fan fails you still have another one. Probably still the same amount of airflow across the radiator when they're both running.

The fan on my ATV would only run about 50 rpm, so I found one from a Suzuki Intruder for $12. It fit perfectly over the oil cooler.

As long as that wire gets grounded, you can put it anywhere you want. Even bolted to the back fender or run it to the negative battery terminal.

Those two fans are crazy strong. When I shut her down after a hot ride, they'll only remain on for maybe 5 seconds, if that. It's raining today, but I will get a photo when it's clear out. I would have never guessed aftermarket, they look factory!
