My restoration bike sat 7+ years and the gas corroded the fuel level sending unit into bits. I soldered the variable resistor connector back and that worked, but the body is so corroded I cannot get a ground signal from the tab that moves back and forth across the resistor windings.
I was thinking of getting the VN1500 unit and just cutting off my float and brazing it on to that, but decided I have other things to spend my time and money on.
