A little background. Im having a friend of mine powdercoat my wheels. I have seen some of his work and its pretty good. I also want my front fork tubes powdercoated too. I am going to be doing dissassembly then handing him all pieces to be powdercoated. The wheels do not seem that hard to get off, my question is how hard is it to get the fork tubes off. It's pretty easy to take them apart and re-assemble.

Thanks seems pretty simple just takes some time. i think ill be able to manage it all. one question, when putting them all back together i dont have a torque wrench. should i just tighten everthing down to reasonable levels or is there a need for exact measurements. thanks. also any tips for brands of powdercoat which are good. Thanks Mick

I'd head off to Harbor Freight and get a torque wrench. Some things really need the proper torque and some things you can get away with using "German" torque... " Guten Tight". Sorry, had to say that after being station in "West Germany" back in the day... But remember if you over torque a bolt, it's prone to snap under stress or strip the threads.
