Guess I should post some info on my bike if any of you are concerned about your bearings. My bike is a "93 with 23,000 miles on it( hard, pot holed strewn urban riding miles). I did not notice any noises or shaking when I was riding but the front wheel could be moved when the weight was taken off. It is a sealed bearing so as far as I know, you can't grease them yourselves....... Stevie D.
They are sealed bearings and I happened to have picked up a couple of sets for Sere off ebay a while back. Good catch on the Dealer's part. Remember those tank slapper videos? Although tank slappers are rare with our VN750s bad bearings could be a very definite factor for one happening. Don't want you going through any tank slappers! The bearings were going bad on the Goldwing and no noticeable handling difference. I happened to be riding with Starr one time and noticed a click click click everytime he took a corner. Needless to say once he stopped and checked it out we headed straight home! DH
