I just got a 2001 VN750 in pieces, I can not tell which cylinder is which, as they just threw all the parts in a box. The manual says to be sure to place the front and rear in the correct position. How can you tell the difference?? They both have the same numbers and markings on the sides. Thanks for any help.

Hello,
Welcome to the site!
This is the front one. On the rear one, the marked hole is on the opposite side.

You can compare what you have visually with the parts diagram at Kawasaki:

Pick your year/model and click on the page for cylinder heads, then zoom in.
Thank you, got it figured out, both timing chain auto adjuster point to the rear. Thanks for the help, basket case machines are always a treat. LOL
