My bike caught on fire yesterday:wow: I put a crank case filter on the front breather and it fell off and landed on the exhaust. The stupid paper filter went up nice. The rubber top and bottom and the hose then caught on fire and fell on the fan. So, then the fan starts to burn and took all the wiring with it. A nice man stopped and gave me a cup of coffee to put the fire out with. This happened about 1000 on Sunday. I called my wife to rescue my. We got the bike home and I went to work. Oh, luckily I was stopped at a hardware store and was able to get most of the supplies I needed. I worked until about 8:00 and got her running. I had to rewire the entire bike. I cleaned up all the burnt and loose wires and finished about 12:30. I got up this am to go to work and she would not start. I had fire to the front cylinder but not the back. I finally chased it down to the igniter. Them are proud of them things $448.78. So, I called the stealership. I very knowledge parts pro told me that the VN750 was not made until the 1990s. Dumba$$!!!!!! So I hung up on him because I have been through the same argument with him before. I have a friend that has a 454 that he is looking to get ride of. I hope that the igniter is the same or at least works on my poor bike.
