I recently acquired a 1988 vn750 that was last licensed in 2004 and spent the last ten years under a tarp outside. Rather than replace the broken and corroded parts with OEM parts I am decluttering what was considered cool 35 years ago with simplicity and technology.
I have the guard and don't believe I'll use it in my design of the rebuild. I am eliminating all plastic where practicable, gauges, headlight and license holder as well and maybe the black side covers too. The gauge shells, struts and sissy bar need rechroming. Very good seat available as are the ears.

Thanks for the heads up/offer. Given what you've said of the condition of the other chrome parts, I'm guessing the crash bar is rusty too, isn't it?
