Is it normal for the cooling fan to come on sometimes after shutting the bike off? Not exactly hot weather around here so I don't imagine the bike is running hot. Coolant is new.

It should kick in around halfway on the temp guage but mine used to run after id shut the bike down if it was warm. It always turned off after about 30 seconds except for once it kept running and killed my batt. so after that Id make sure it went off. If it keeps going I had to pull the batt cable off and then it never did it again (by it I mean keep running while off). Just check you fan switch and make sure its connected and In good condition.

You don`t have to go to all the trouble to pull the battery cable off to stop the fan.
Just pull the ground wire off the thermo fan switch on the lower right side of the radiator. Quick and easy to unplug and plug back in.:smiley_th
