Well we all know it is not an easy task to renew the stator on the VN750 when it finally burns out..... the question is it really gonna burn out? More like when is it is more realistic.... Several ways you can renew it...drop the engine, lean the engine and so on...but really no easy way and have the chance of breaking something because a few bolts have to be removed..then have to deal with coolant and burping and so on if the engine is dropped out....... Their is a company that makes a really nice stator mount kit, but you still have to remove the left stator mount case, have them machine it, and buy their very nice custom stator mount....but it runs $400.00 plus shipping! Member TuxedoSeven came up with his mod and it works with great success! I have done the mod myself and works great........ It takes a little time to do the mod, but will make future stator changes a snap!..... This mod is not for the faint of heart and requires a little bit of skill to perform..... TuxedoSeven or I are not responsible if you decide to try this MOD and damage your motorcycle in anyway.....Also read the threads and info about this mod carefully as other tools and parts are needed that is not included in this kit to perform the mod..
.. between the thread here from TuxedoSeven and my picture website it should cover alot of questions and how to's...
....Also TuxedoSeven is the inventor and owner of this mod..... He has also applied and paid for patent...... he was nice enough to let me make and offer these kits to member's here until he say's otherwise:)

Tuxedo Style Stator Mod Kit is $25.00 shipped USPS Priority with tracking.***UPDATED PRICE DROP,knocked off $40.00 bucks total!:)*****
Paypal or Postal Money Order is fine...will ship upon cleared payment...... Links on the Tuxedo Stator Mod and the link to my picture website with various pics and descriptions of the mod are in my sig.

I make these kits up myself and have 2 kits already made up and ready to ship... reply here or PM me and will add you to list....thanks!

Seems a little overkill.... Is he selling something, too?

Tuxedo is the one whom invented the mod....... He gave me permission to make the parts for the mod myself and offer them to members here for sale....I am making these kits until he decides he wants to make them..... He owns the patent on this Mod and kit style.... Another manufacture also sells a kit with the same concept, but it is $400 plus shipping and you still have to pull the engine and send them the stator case to have the same area cut out....... The whole reason behind the Tuxedo mod is not to pull the engine to replace the stator..... It makes sense if someone does not have the room or stuff to pull the engine out and cant make a big mess.....The hardest part of the Tuxedo mod in my opinion is making the plate and locating and drilling the holes exact.... The plate I offer is already drilled exact, test fitted and includes the mounting hardware...Helps and saves time for someone whom does not have the means to make the plate and wants to do this mod...This is just another way to change the stator on these bikes and make future stator replacements a breeze as it seems stator failure is high on these bikes from what I have read......

Thanks Tuxedo ;)................ I came up with a price I thought was fair..... I know the $400.00 plus kit that is offered is really nice, but this kit being 1/6 the price for the same end result and don't have to pull the engine is a plus....... The same place does offer just the stator mount if you cut your own case like the Tuxedo kit and it is $300 bucks plus shipping:/ !

I had no idea how to price these so tossed out a number.... I am going to go ahead and lower the price......... How does $50.00 shipped sound? Fair? Also would the metal scribe compass be included in the kit make it more appealing? $60.00 bucks for the kit shipped including the metal scribe compass for people whom don't have a Harbor Freight near by? I am just trin to get a feel on where this kit should be priced and what included ;)

Also here is the same cheap rotary tool I bought many years ago and have used the hec out of it..mine is made by Buffalo and i paid 20 bucks for it..... I bet I have a good 40 hours use out of it so far and works good...... I used it to cut the case along with a Dremal arbor and Dremal thin cut off wheels.......

Good news. The previous owner of my bike did a custom job of one of these and the stock gasket did not fit in the end, so he used the liquid gasket (think hondabond) and there is a small leak.

Would the stock gaskets fit with your modification? I'm tempted to re-do all of his work properly just to eliminate the tiny leak, but if I could go this route I will.

I believe some are grinding down the bosses for a snugger fit. I don't recommend this because it makes it a little too snug inside the outer cover and sometimes pinches a pickup wire. Others are going with a double gasket.
I would just take the cover off and apply fresh sealer. If you do, please follow the directions which will call for clean surfaces and curing time.
Super helpful response; thanks TS.

On the 94 VN750 when I did the mod was super glue a used outer cover o-ring to the one already in the cover, even a new o-ring would work stacked on the used o-ring in the cover.. I dont think 2 new orings would work as one has to be flat so would stick together easily and not squash or roll out when tightening down :)...... then used a thin layer of Permatex ULtra Black and followed the silicone instructions letting it tack up.....worked excellent and used alot less silicone ;)

If you are not happy with the plate the last owner made, I dropped the price to $25.00 shipped for the kit in this thread ;) Doin me no good sitting gathering dust....... I bet once I do sell these 2 kits EVERYBODY is gonna want one....lol :)

PMed. Just in time for a PayPal refund I am receiving too.

The PO did the mod but I don't trust their metal-work. Since I have to redo the gasket to fix a leak I figure might as well use your plate. :smiley_th

With all due respect Rags, $25 to $45 is just way too low a price for the amount of work and hardware that you are putting into it with shipping included. If I was going to take the time to make this kit, I would be above $50 at the least due to the time involved in the creation of a kit like this. So if anyone has an issue with the price, then let them take the time to try to come up with anything better. Don't be afraid to charge what your time is worth as this is a convenience item created to help with a bad design issue with the bike.

Very True ;)

I just felt I priced my kit to high.... I did not sell a one....even on Ebay when I had them priced at 50 bucks with free shipping...... it really does take a little bit of work and suprising all the bolts and hardware comes to almost 10 bucks from Ace hardware.....So I dropped the price until they started to sell.... I figure 50% of something is better then 100% of nothing....... I will put them back up to $50.00 bucks shipped after I make thtanner's kit I promised him....... Just like anything else, supply and demand.........I guess it will take someone's frustration and destroying a new stator to actually see how resonable this kit it is at even $50.00 shipped......
