I'm getting ready to install a Shindengen FH020AA on my 1995 VN750 and while looking at their web site I see that there are the 3 phase wires, a hot wire and a ground wire. My R/R plug also has a brown wire between the ground (black/yellow) and the hot wire (white). What is this brown wire and where does it go? There is a connector blade in the old R/R for it, but is it for real?

In the factory wiring diagram, that terminal is listed as "monitor", but isn't used with the stock R/R either.

Your kit should have an extra rubber plug to use in that hole.

I've got a template for a bracket to relocate the R/R behind the left side cover, but I don't have it ready to post yet. It's pretty easy to make up a bracket though.

I guess that clears it up a bit... Thanks! I've already used Bulldogs relocation bracket, so the R/R is right out where I can get to it... So, I will just ignore the brown wire unless someone else has some insight... Thanks folks!
