Are the frame designs the same on a EN500 and the VN750? I was browsing around and the seat on the 500 looks exactly how I was going to cut down my seat... Figure why cut if I can fab up a bracket or two and bolt on...

There are many seats that can be modified to fit our 750's. The biggest thing to look at is the side view of how it covers the rear frame section and follows the lines for it to look factory. I have a seat from a newer Honda Shadow 750 that doesn't quite work but maybe having some skirting put on the seat to cover up the big uneven gap between the seat and side covers may work. It all depends on the look and comfort you are going for.

thanks for the reply baldy... Yea.. I'm hoping somebody here will be able to let me know how close of a fit it is... unfortunately I don't have any bikes to compare in person so I'm having to go off of pictures... Looking closer it looks as though the frame is a little different design but the curves seem to be the same... Next question is it at least as wide?

Most of the seats that I have seen, the driver pan is wider and the passenger section is narrower then the factory seat on our 750's. So again it is just the personal preference. I am still running with my modified factory seats until I mod the Honda seat or find a VN900 seat for cheap. I have seen the 900 seat on our 750's and it looks sweet. I can't remember who's bike it was on but I'm sure someone else on here might know.

Yup.. saw the one with the VN900... Not trying to be a critic but it is a little wide for my taste... I actually saw a 750 with the Mean Streak seat on it and I like the way that looks... But if the 500 seat will fit with a little fab work, some duct tape and a hammer I think that is the way to go for me...

Just don't want to buy it and find out that it is so different that I would've been better off cutting my factory seat down...

If you can wait until the weekend, I'll be glad to pull the seat off my 500 and set it on the 750 and take a few pics if that will help. I'm out of town and won't be back home untill the weekend.

When I got home I realized that I had one modified vulcan 500 seat and one original foam and cover without a pan, but I think this will still give you the general information you want, just try to ignore the modified seat upper section where I added more foam, the lower part is still just like OE.

1st thing I encountered is that the 5oo seat is wider in the passenger section than the space between the uprights, so you will have to modify one or the other, and the 500 seat is too long to fit with the uprights and tool box in place. The front part seems to fit pretty well. The tongue goes into the slot up front, although it's a little tight and the edges are fairly close in alignment towards the front part but way off above the rails where the passenger seat goes. The 500 seat is about 1" to 1.5" wider at the widest point than the 750 seat.

I hope this is helpful information for you. You might be able to make this a solo seat without too much modification, but leaving it a double is going to present some issues with the back rails. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.:smiley_th

Hey burkbuilds, first and foremost... Thank you...

From the pictures, I think it will work great with a little nip here and tuck there... Add some custom tooled leather and I think we have a winner... The toolbox and bar don't have much of a future on my bike...anybody want them? All they wil cost is shipping

Glad this was helpful to you. I'm planning on re-working my seat to a solo and redesigning the sissy bar set up for a trunk. Thanks for the offer of the parts though. I'm sure someone on here would love to have them.

Right now I'm tackling the spline lube. This may be a project I'm not able to finish today, but at least I've gotten started on it.

Happy Easter.
