Thought the electrical system was dying, as the bike was hard to start, and sometimes died / near died at idle when loaded (GPS, electric gloves, brake light). &^%$#, I don't have time to put up with this. Pulled the seat and guess what?

Yup, battery connection loose. Red was half unscrewed.

Easy fix, right? Nope. Broke off the negative screw (don't ask, too embarrassing). So now I have to get the broken screw out before I can re-mount the battery. Gah.

So, if your bike seems to have electrical problems, make sure the battery connections are tight. Might be an easy fix!

Lose negative battery connector happened to me because the battery was shifting from side to side. I shimmed the hold down bracket to prevent movement and put lock washers on the battery terminals. However, I still check them from time to time (last week in fact) just to be safe.
