Rear cylinder pick up not working, tested and fails when engine heats up.
Can you splice in a new one, don't really want to drop the engine to install new pick ups.
I was thinking along the lines of cut of old one, splice in new one and use heat shrink to cover up.
My question is would this work?

I did it.. works fine.. i even took it a step further and made it so I could disconnect the pickups from inside the stator cover to replace them in the future.

Just as I said. I cut the wires for the picups inside the stator cover. Went to NAPA and got a 4 pin male and female weatherlock connector. Soldered wires into the connectors and placed the coils back into their holes
