So if anyone has seen my last post(s) about my wiring harness being melted, I found out it was my R/R and I hardwired it to the harness. I did buy a cheap one off of amazon (not my finest moment) and it seem’s like it’s been doing fine.
Now to the real issue. After changing the R/R I rode it for about 50ish miles. Went to ride it the next day and my battery was dead. Today, I bought a new one, put it in, and fired the bike up and let it idle for 5 mins or so before I had to turn it off so I can put the back piece on. I tested the voltage while it was in idle and I was at 11.89volts. I went to start it and the starter cranked a few times real slow and then clicking like a dead battery. Would that mean I have a bad stator? Or do I have a short somewhere that’s draining the battery?
Sorry if the story is all over the place. I’ll try to respond to comments/questions as fast as I can.
TIA!!

It does sound like there could be a draw when the switch is off. This is often the RR, but not always.

11.89v at idle is not charging at all.

Need to test the stator and RR, charge the battery and check voltage, and check for the current draw.
