I was examining my bike and I found out that the ignition coil was hooked up wrong. I checked the manual and it says that the red wire is supposed to be towards the front and the black wire is towards the back. On mine it was the opposite as shown in the picture. I have corrected the issue, but I was wondering if it really mattered because I was able to run it both ways. Is there a performance difference between the two? Does reversing the red and black wire affect which plug get power or what?

Reversing the red & black wouldn't change which plugs were sparking, but it might be causing a v- instead of a v+ in the coil, reversing the direction that the spark travels across the gap. Maybe. If so, I would imagine it would cause premature wear of the 'L' shaped piece of the spark plug.
