Does anyone out there have any close up pics of a pro tac or any other kind of drivers back rest? I want to make my own but have never seen one personally since I've only been riding for 1.5 months now.. If anyone has any pics with a tape measure stuck to it as well would be even better! You can PM me and I can give my personal email if that would be easier..

Thanks,

Borto

Here is a fairly close up pic. This is A Pro Tac. The mounting brackets might be the hardest part. Otherwise it's chorme tubing and the backrest itself.

The mount is similar to the left one on my homemade saddlebag brackets in the pic.
The only difference is the ProTac one is tubing, so the backrest can be removed easily.
As for size, I just ground it until it fit good.

Does that Mustang seat sit wider than a stock? It looks cumfy!
It may be slightly wider. The Pillion portion is a little higher that the stock seat too. It is really firm, which can make it seem like it won't be comfortable, but after you get it broken in a little it's very comfy. I can pretty much ride all day now. They are pretty expensive, but if you want to do long rides I think it was worth it. You can find them used, but you gotta be ready to jump on them now.
