Just what I was going to suggest. You might also look at some of the sealable stainless or aluminum mugs. I have one the I just close up and stick in my jacket. No muss no fuss.

My old neighbor had one on his bike, said he bought it at Wal-mart for 5 bucks from the bicycle section. It was not a water bottle holder, but a cup holder that came with an insulated cup.

Me, I just get up a few minutes earlier and drink my coffee before I leave.....alot more simple......;)
(Can't really drink with a full face helmet unless you use a straw.)

And you did know RAM makes a cup holder for bikes?

The problem with the bottle and this one is that it doesn't swivel to allow it to be attached at a NON horizontal part of the bar. I really don't have any room but either near the brake cylinder or maybe next to my phone which is next to the clutch. Further down starts to interfere with the turn signal lights.

The this RAM mount one should work for you:

You can position it towards the center of the tank and it can bolt to a vertical bar.

Here is the walmart one I bought and installed on my bikes clutch mount I drilled an extra hole in it to line up with the bolts and used longer bolts and some cheap chrome 1/4 inch drive sockets to space it out where i wanted it. it holds insulated mugs or the Bottled drinks quite well .I used come rubber hose on the holder to keep the cups from rattling around. It works well and was only 5 0r 6 bucks. W,win solution,as far as I'm concerned.

I am going to use one of these from dollar store, there like $2 so you don't have to worry about messing up too much. Cut the bottom 1/3 off and get creative on how to mount. http://www.dollartree.com/Aluminum-Water-Bottles/p321667/index.pro
Lol, I have one of those I put in my cup holder from walmart. I fiil it about 1/3 full of water and freeze it for riding on hot days and just pour whatever I want to drink in it. One problem is as it sweats it cold drops of water blow on you or drip on the bike. They are also handy for putting in my little soft sided cooler and keeping other stuff cold. and when it thaws some cold water on hand.

Depending on what you are going to put into the holder; open can of soda, spill proof coffee mug, water bottle with a squirt top, etc.; should be considered when deciding if you need a full swivel holder or not. If it is totally stationary and the container is not spill proof you or the bike are going to take a bath. I think I would use something that swivels in all directions just so I have more options as to what I bring along or pick up on the ride.
