Did my spline lube today with VN750.com's aid of coarse. I will find the author and thank him. But for now thanks to all of you who discuss the things you do here! There certainly is a wealth of information to be had. Mine were not dry but for my peace of mind, it's worth it. Took a couple of hours max.Thanks guys and gals.

I'd say mine took about 3 hours, I did take one quick trip down to the auto parts store for some brake cleaner to spray everything down before putting on the moly. Probably could have done it in far less than 2 if I didn't take some breaks.

Im no guru but i would use carb clean in this application. Due to its cleaning and lubing ability. Although, one could use brakeclean...it strips all lubricant from whatever and also could affect the oring. This is just a small thing but i try to use brake clean for total cleaning and carb clean when being used near lubricated parts.

Non-Chlorinated brake cleaner is now available (make sure it it is listed on the label) that will not harm plastic and rubber. I also use it to clean the mass air flow sensors on my autos.
