Hey, Vulcanados! I'm dreaming up my winter projects, and I'd love to do some serious rear end mods (only time will tell if they're pipe dreams or not ;). One idea is to drop down to a solo seat, remove the frame elements under the passenger seat, and bob the rear fender back. That much I have a decent plan of attack for. The part that stumps me a bit would be the tail lights and turn signals. What I would like to do is have two lights back there (one on each side of course) that serve as both brake and turn indicators. I'm pretty sure you can't just combine the brake and turn leads (you'd loose turn signaling if you were braking, amiright?). What about using something like this?

Seems like it would do the trick. It would need a jumper of some sort for the running lights, I think. Or does someone know a better way to accomplish this goal?

2006 sportster seat
modded rear footpeg mounts to mount blinker/running lights. cut off the footpeg mounts and ground smooth and polished them

fender mounts. stock rear fender cut in half.cut some angle iron to the shape of the frame and welded it on the end for the mount.drilled two holes to mount the front under the seat and was planning on using a limp d-ick taillight. the blinkers I used Sportster bezel and added red lenses and wired driving and blinkers

Exactly! This is helpful to see! I was wondering what to do with the passenger foot pegs. Thanks for that idea. Looks like you still have plenty of room with those 10" shocks on the back. I'm looking at some aftermarket ones on eBay for around $150 shipped.

So for the blinkers, you've wired them to be turn signals and running lights, but not brake lights?

Also, I've never used Tapatalk, but can you use that to upload pics to the forum? I've been trying to figure out a Photobucket alternative.

tap on the three dots on the top right.press on reply.the press on the paperclip and you should be able to choose from the pictures on your phone. now for the footpeg. cut down the mounts for the footpeg with a sawzall.drill the hole where the spring and ball go for the footpeg and drill to the size of the bolt for the Harley blinkers. grind the area flat.sand smooth going from 400 grit,600,800,1000,1500,then polish with mothers aluminum polish.I wired the blinkers as running/blinkers and ran a small taillight on the fender

I originally planed on a limp d ick taillight but grabbed mounts for a trailer fender taillight. I'll see if I can find the pics
