what would be the best oil to replace after i install my new clutch plates? and how many quarts? 97 vn750 thanks

I would say any this is mostly a matter of preference ans long as there are no friction modifiers in the oil and it is al least 10w40. I have used Castroil 10W40 and Rotella 15w40 with good results.

hey do the motor oil and clutch share the same oil compartment? i cant seem to check my clutch oil stick deal...

Yes they do.

You should soak you new friction disk in oil, the same oil you plan on using, before you install them.

Also there is no clutch oil stick deal, there is a sight glass on the lower left side of the engine.

It is a wet clutch which means the oil for the motor, clutch, and trans are all in one. When you change the oil it takes care of the whole system. As far as what type. I have used Castrol 20-50w dino oil and no problems in either bike with over 50K miles combined.
