I read somewhere where u can pull off one of the air filters and spray wd-40 in there and if the motor surges, u have an air leak. Is this right. I just replaced the stator and now i have the idle screw turned all the way clockwise and choke pulled all the way back just to get my 04 750 to run. It ran ok before rebuild of stator. Added seafoam tonight just in case. Also cut vent hose to right ear at a 45 degree and reinserted in the top hole behide ear. any suggestions thks
bike is stock

with the idle screw turned all the way, i can push the chock half way to achieve 1000 rpm and it still stalls when riding.

Some folks spray wd-40 around the outside of the carb and boots. I spray water. Less messy. If it coughs & chokes, there's a leak. Just found and stopped a boot leak.

Didn't hear much difference after soaking motor down with water. But after driving her down the road and back (2 miles) she felt a little better but still having 2 pull chock back at stop signs. Day 2 of just adding seafoam.
