Hey Fellow Vulcan Riders!!!

These past two days I had some weird things going on with my scooter!
Everytime i put the switch to RESERVE or NORMAL ( open ), the bike dies after 10 seconds and i can smell fresh gas. It will idle jsut fine for 3 minutes with the switch on OFF.
I have added some SeaFoam, let it seat overnight. It ran fine for a half of mile then it happened again.
The symptoms are the same either on RESERVE or on NORMAL.
I need some help here guys.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Ride safely

Well first do you have a scooter or a 750 vulcan? Drain the carbs, drain your lines, drain your tank. You most likely have crud coming from the tank. Try new gas and the Sea foam trick again. You may have to pull the carbs as a last cure. Oh and also clean and reinstall petcock. Those are the easiest things first to do.

All right guys,
Tihs is what i've done so far:

-PECTO: i removed the fuel lines and put the switch on ON and RESERVE position. No fuel is flowing out. So i guess my pecto is ok. right?
- I have drain both carbs and cleaned the fuel line. no change :(

PS: it seems like it's the front cylinder that "shuts down" first when the pecto is on ON or RESERVE. The back cylinder runs fine at all time. this info might in the troubleshooting process.

Sounds like a carb pull is in order and good cleaning. Something is keeping the float valve open and flooding.

:(

Man i'm not ready for that :(
I will try to use some Gumout Spray by spraying it through the fuel line and have the drain screw open. then fill them up and let it seat overnight. then maybe re-do the process a couple more time.
Hope this will work.

thanks for the reply.

Peace

I had the same thing happen to me a while back. If i had the petcock on "off" the bike ran OK. As soon as I put it in "run" she stalled.

It turned out to be a small vacuum leak on the vacuum line from the petcock to the carbs. i didn't discover it untill I removed the lines and saw a very small crack. a new 50 cent line fixed the problem.
