My son Daniel and I changed his brake fluid and cleaned the MC including the little hole :0) (by the way a guitar string works great for this)

Bled the brakes well - looks like no air in the lines - but the brake lever pulls all the way to the grip - it stops the bike but you always want a little reserve when you are stopping.

The MC is full of fluid

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you still have an air bubble. How were the brakes before cleaning and putting in new fluid?

I have never tried this, but I hear it works. Fill the MC with fluid and tie the brake lever to the handle bar and leave over night. This should bleed the air from system.

The brake fluid was dark brown and the brakes were grabby before the fluid change

What is reverse bleed?

Air naturaly goes up cause it is lighter. Inject the fluid from the calipers till it escapes from the master. It's cheap, much faster and easy while brakes are still fully installed.
