So I have my carbs torn apart and I'm puzzled by what this piece is:

I'm pointing attention to the round opening on the lower left of the carb with a black fabric surrounding a metal circle. It looks like a speaker.:wow:Is it okay for me to soak this in carb cleaner with the rest of it? What am I looking at?

The only help I can give, and I'm not 100% sure but it may be the air cut off valve part # 43028. I have not pulled these carbs apart.

X2... that thing will dissolve if you soak if with the carbs. Remove all non-metal parts from the carb before soaking.

If that is torn or has a hole in it, it needs to be replaced. Ron (lance) told me what they were for, but I don't remember.
