Any help? I'm looking for any old school chopper or bobber type seats if there are any others that are easier to install...

Without really seeing how those Biltwell seats mount it's hard to say. Have you pulled off the stock seat and seen how it mounts? That will give you an idea of what kind of changes you would need to make. The front of the stock seat hooks under a cross piece of the frame just behind the tank.

The second one you linked, the solo seat, looks like a normal springer seat. You would have to attach a mounting bracket up front either bolting on or welding to the frame. And then a way to mount the springs for the rear.

I'm personally looking at something more like the HB seat. But with the way our rear fender is mounted and the stock seat is supported, it will take more cutting and fab work than I'm really wanting to do right now.

ANY seat can be made to work, if you know what to do...and understand the stock mounts...

I like the solo you showed...thats a really easy mod....make a tab in front, add springs to the rear, and a mounting bracket....its a lil small for my liking though....I like the big, wide, touring type solo I have on mine...all it took was to make 2 brackets....

Ah okay makes sense. This is my first time modding a bike so I'm a complete noob to all of this. Maybe I should go with the springer seat since what you guys described sounds relatively easy. Thanks!

I wont get a chance to do it before this weekend (mom tomorrow, swapmeet Sat), but mebbe on Sunday, will take my seat off and take pics for ya as to how it can be done (need to remove it anyway)...all ya really need is some band stock, a drill, and a vise (or two vise-grips)....you'll need to remove the existing covering though (usually just staples), and once modded, an HD staple gun to reinstall it...unless ya want screws coming up into yer butt, lol...

Thanks a lot, brotha! I'm sure that'll help me a ton and take most of the guess work out of it for me. As I said I'm completely new to modding bikes. I have lots of ideas for this bike so I'll be on here often figuring it all out lol

I'm excited to start getting my hands dirty and learning the whole process. I have a friend who was a car mechanic and he rides so he knows a bit.... but no one that really has the knowledge.

Bring this back because I finally have the time and money to do it.

If I go with the springer seat should I get one of these seat hinges? http://www.biltwellinc.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=5

And then I would have to make make some kind of bracket to bolt on to attach to the spring part, correct?

Is there anyone that could make such a bracket and I'd pay them... lol

Thanks for the help guys
