I replaced my acid battery today with a new AGM M/F battery, and when I pulled the vent tube out of the frame, it was melted closed on the bottom end. Come to find out the tube was laying across the goats belly, and had gotten pretty hot.
The battery was still full of acid, but I'm glad it didn't get too hot, and try to vent the gasses out of it, could have been a major problem under the battery box.

Problems like that with a defective or missing vent tube are a major reason why we recommend changing out to an MF-AGM battery. Spilled electrolyte on the frame or wiring can be a big headache. Glad you changed yours before the road gremlins struck.
