I have been trying to figure out what my issue may be, and now my brain is warped from possibles.

Perhaps someone can direct me to the right path. The bike runs beautiful on initial start up and go. The battery is fully charged No back fire - pop nothing. As it progressively warms up popping starts to take place as i lay off the throttle. Also in 30 mile roughly forty minutes to an hour ride a previous fully charged battery goes back to the trickle and reads 60 percent. I have a volt regulator on the dash, and it stays right around 12 to 13 when running it shows four lights on the indicator which range to the 12 13 until ..i turn on the fan in traffic. Volt lights flicker few a few seconds then drop to 2 lights on volt screen, and at times the bike will sputter. After 30 mile run and return to the garage. once I try to start it I get a shotgun sound out the rear cyl pipe when its hot. All the back fire, and pop only comes from rear cyl in fact.

Carbs been cleaned beginning of season.

VH pipes not perfectly balanced but within 3 four inches. exhaust straight dual not crossover. No exhaust leaks, however no crush gaskets on either of the 2 sides

air mix screws adjusted to a fine point so much in fact i have this gorgeous crackle at 6,000 rpms when i decel

baffles in the exhaust
have also had fishtails on and same rear cylinder pop occurs.

Any thoughts to what may be happening?. stator? regulator? bad battery? battery is new agm auto zone duralast doesn't mean it's good though.

any guidance would be great

check your rectifier plug and connectors first.

thanks doc I checked it earlier today very dirty and oily. I tried to pull it out to clean and check but there was no way at that time and in truth im not sure if it did just pull out like a fuse. is that the way it removes? plug?

You need to use a real voltmeter and check your charging volts after the bike has warmed up. "12-13 volts" isn't enough to keep a battery charged.
You should have at least 13.5-13.8 volts at 3,500-4,000 rpms.

Yes, clean your connections.
thanks i do have one but im not understanding how it works yet. thanks for the help.

thanks for the help guys. volt stuff is out of my league as of now. but you gotta be in it to win it right?..so i give it a shot. thanks again.
