Has anyone tried the Kuryakyn Tombstone Backrest Bag? Seems like a good idea with mutli-function and all. Heres the right up I found on it.

Here’s a bag (patent pending)that does double duty. Designed from the start to serve as both a rigid frame backrest and a bag, the Tombstone Bag provides solid lumbar support and a handy place to store essentials. Zippered pockets, clips and pouches inside the bag keep everything organized and easy to find. The Tombstone Bag is designed to fit on all motorcycles with a passenger backrest. A dual adjustable hook and loop strap system goes through and around the solid PVC frame to attach securely to the backrest.

Cruisercustomizing want 143.96 with free shipping. How much does the Pro-Tac driver backrest cost, and how is that one liked by those who have it?

Update:
I ended up getting the bag. It ws alot bigger than I imagined. My first tought was to sell it and get the protac backrest. Posted on craiglist but nobody wanted it.

Second idea was to make it smaller. So I broke out the dremel and began cutting. Cut about 4 inches outa the removable part that is pvc with a metal support rail that goes all the way around the inside. used the piece that I cut out as a bracket. Rewrappedthe fabric and put it back in the bag.

Today I took her out for a spin and have to say that was the most comfortable 100 miles I ever rode on that bike. The bag crumples a little cause it doesnt have the liner spreading it out, but it isnt that noticeable. I also need to find something better to hold down the front. Right now im using balck zip ties. It actually doesnt need it but I feel safer with it strapped down. Im thinking of velcro straps. Good thing isif I take the liner out the bag still holds a full face helmet.

With this addition I am ready for a road trip. On the 1st of July Im planning on heading down to South of the Border in SC, for our July 4th cookout the following weekend. Its about 275 miles away. Should be a good ride.

heres a couple pics of the bag on the bike.I just put on a different seat today and it has been shaved down which made the bag scrunch up a little more. I dont know how far up the back the ProTac backrests come, but this thing gives me support all the way up to the middle of my shoulder blades.

You going to the gathering? It would nice to see your bag along with the walmart solution side by side so I know which is the one to get.

unfortunatly not this year. its hard for me to get outa town for more than a day during the summer. I do like the bag alot but if I had seen the walmart bag before I bought it I probably would went with the Walmart bag. Whats that thing cost 20 bucks? Alot better than 150. But then again with metal support I dont have to worry about cracking the plastic which I have done using bags like those at work.

Thanks for the pic. I like those.
Does the mounting give you enough room? I an a 6'1" rider and am concerned about being cramped. Also- I assume something like this needs to be packed to be rigid enough to lean against?

Thanks everyone!
