I got the battery, charged it, bike started right up and didnt drain the battery where i needed to jump it. First time in years it woke up from its winter nap so easy. So, I am wondering if these AGM have more cranking amps than standard wet cell batteries. I think im only getting 13.5 volts back at idle, im a little nervous if thats enough.
13.5 volts at idle is GOOD. You should get about 14.5 at 4k RPMs.
AGMs do have higher cranking amps, but what makes them better besides the zero maintanance thing and no leaky acid to worry about is they recover voltage quickly and lose voltsge alot slower. Which means they can sit for months and lose very little voltage. And when powered off, they recover faster than a wet cell.
Sounds like yours is working fine. Now you know why we keep telling folks to get one.
