for sale 1985 vulcan 700...18000 miles, needs electrical work, keeps killing batteries. changed the stator and rectifyer, but still wont charge. its been sitting a few years but will start if jumped. looking to get 750.00, firm.

It's generally bad form to try to sell something on your first post. That's not what this forum is about. Why don't you introduce yourself, then search for help. You can also ask for information from our helpful members. There may even be one near you and will offer to come by to give a hand. If nothing else, it will be easier to sell a working bike then a dead one.

x2 on all points. There was a time when I thought myself and Ole Dirty Doc were the only ones making that call on initial posters. A few members have been burned by some that come here to "sell" as the vast majority of this membership are straight up honest people and very trusting. Introduce yourself and let us know where you are approximately and the full situation of the bike. One of us just may have a quick answer that can put some better money in your pocket it you still decide to sell. Good luck.

Also remember that a bike that does not run is worth almost nothing other than for parts. There is no way to tell what may be wrong with it.
