What kind of R/R did you get? Im waiting on an R/R from roadstercycle.com A Mosfet Shindengen It also has only 5 Pins. This is what ive learned. You have the 3 yellow wires, those come from the stator, I would repin those wires from the wires go to the old R/R connector and not from the bullet connectors that plug the stator into the harness, since one of the stator wires (I believe spliced inside the harness) also goes to the junction box. As for the other 3 wires, 1) BLK/Y wire this goes to the negitive terminal of the battery. 2) WHT wire goes to the Positive terminal of the battery and the ignition switch, since this wire is spliced in the harness to go to both places unpluging this wire from the R/R will not remove the voltage needed that goes to the ignition switch. 3) BRN wire this wire is for the sensing voltage that is needed for the stock R/R, It's hooked up to the ignition switch and gets it's voltage from the white wire when the ignition is turned on. Its also spliced and goes to the junction box for the loads I.E the lights. so unplugging this wire from the R/R would not disconnect the voltage needed for the loads. The new R/R I would say does not need the sensing voltage to work Hence the 5 pins. In a nut shell what I was told was i can unplug the connector from R/R and tie it up out of the way, dont forget you need your stator wires out of there. I would protect however so corrosion dont start. Then just hook up the positive and negitive wires to the battery. Mine comes with a 30 AMP fuse that goes on the positive wire between the R/R and the battery. I do however need to ask what i do with the original 30 AMP fuse, since the new R/R will not go thought this. im assuming i will just leave it there. From what I understand I get installation intructions with my new R/R. Plus there is installation instructions for the mosfet on the website I mentioned earlier. I Proof read this about 4 times, i think it makes sense.
