  1. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
'02 VN750 w/ 6,736 miles. Sorry for another cam chain post, but I've looked at most of them on this site and I'm not convinced MCCTs will solve the problem. It had been sitting for a year when I bought it, but I got it running fairly easily. The loud clacking noise on the right side (rear...
  2. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
I've been using these converted ACCT's for many years w/o any issues. 10-24 set screw holds the inner shaft from backing out. Simple, cheap, works. Can be done safely with hand tools. 55k+ miles on the bike, now my son is riding it as I spend most of my time on my 83 wing.
  3. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
Hey guys. I'm new to the forums. I've got the same annoying ACCT sounds that many of you have gotten. I recently purchased the TOC MCCTs and plan on swapping them out this weekend. I went to swap these out as soon as I got them, but as I started to remove the front cylinder ACCT when I saw that...
  4. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
This is working fine after 200+ miles. The weather has turned crappy again so bike is stuck in garage - don't feel like getting wet. The screw is a 10-24 thread that stops the ACCT adjuster from moving due to a weak spring. DT
  5. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
Had new MT66s put on yesterday and they tried to tell me that the ACCT needed replacing for $360 (don't think so) So when the bike is cold I can hear very faint valve train noise don't think there is a quite chain driven timing set. I can hear the "whine/wherr" noise if I take around the block...
  6. New Member Introductions
I am picking up my '94 VN750 next weekend and am very excited to finally be riding again. I was out of work for a while and had to let my toys go one by one, sometime in 2004 I sold my '86 Maxim 700 and have been without a ride since. I was never happy with the footpeg position on that bike but...
  7. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
I am installing the replacement ACCT spring. After reassembling the ACCT with the new TOC spring, it compresses (retracts) and returns easily with a turn of the tool. But when I compress the spring and install it back onto the engine, it resists coming back out when I turn the key. Has...

Can one of you search guru's point me to the thread(s) with pics that showed how to build a MCCT from a stock ACCT? I've been wanting to do this as a weekend project but can't find the examples others have posted. Thanks in advance, DT
  9. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
Hey Guys, just noticed that when I start my bike it seems to only be running on one cylinder, but when I rev the engine a bit the front cylinder seems to kick in. Could this be because I need new ACCT's? Once the engine is warmed up there seems to be no problems. Any help would be appreciated...
  10. Engine, Exhaust & Cooling
Tired of that 'rattle can' sound every time you start in the morning? Chain slap got you down? Don't want to shell out for MCCT's? TRY greasing the ACCT threads, it really works, costs about $5 in grease and some very colorful words from your garage. Here it is: Remove the ACCT should look...
