It's a little different than the standard procedure as the engine was out and I could remove the propeller shaft. It should still give a good idea of what is involved.
Dude... you rock! Your vid's are so helpful. Thanks for making them. It is appreciated by many for sure. Got to subscribe to your yt page also. Take care.
You know, I asked this guy at Autozone if they might have Moly60 grease... he pointed me to a can of spray on white lithium grease... u_u he said "it's the same thing!".
I recall someone mentioning that you can fill the final drive through the hole located at 2 O`clock on the circumference that is plugged with "set screw" type bolt with a 6 mm allen head. The 1 liter gear oil bottles come with a tapered nozzle, and you just keep adding oil until it starts to run over the threads in the oil level check hole that you were filling through.
I've said it before, but your videos are better than the manual. Next time I lube my splines (in the next couple thousand miles), I intend to remove both the front bevel drive gearcase, the final drive gearcase, and the drive shaft, clean everything up really well with brake cleaner, and give everything a good coating of Guard Dog 570 73% moly paste. I've never had the front gear case off before, I've been pulling the boot back, dropping the swingarm as far as it will go, disengaging the U joint from the output shaft, and using a popsickle stick to put grease on the output shaft and in the U joint.
Yeppers "Mr. Roach" there has great videos on youtube, ive watched all of them that are posted. Dont really need the manual except for a second hand back now Give Mr. Roach the New Shiney Vulcan 750 Award!
Roach, I figure this video needs more exposure so I created a link to it in fergy`s spline lube thread. Post #54.
I guess I should cross reference fergy`s thread to this one too, for those new to the forum.
