OleDirtyDoc Look into the headlight bypass.you move one wire in the harness

mrseedsower yes and I found corrosion on it when I first got the bike. So i will be taking that off tomorrow to see if it needs cleaning. If it is the JB I can bypass the headlamp switch and run a new leg to the two lamp leads and put a external switch on it.

OleDirtyDoc Isn't the relay in the JB?

thtanner It is ran off a leg of the stator, that then activates a relay. It can be a symptom of your stator failing.

headlight relay?

Isn't there a headlight relay that turns off the lamp while trying to crank the bike, if so where is it located. My lamp doesn't work anymore and I am pratty sure it isn't the lamp.
