niterider They go as skald said. The sealing lip goes down to hold the oil in.

skalding I had the same question this past weekend. I chose the smallgroove/writing side up, and the big groove down.

They sealed up fine. But then again I've only put 50 miles on the bike since I changed the seals.

Fork seal direction. What side is up?

I started a thread about alignment but is started to change direction so I'm starting a new one. After finally getting the allen screw out of my fork tubes and stripping them down, I'm ready to install the new seals and they look different than the OEM. The new ones are BikeMaster. I've seen people ask this before but I haven't seen an answer. Which side is up. The new ones have a groove on each side instead if just one like the originals. The two sides are different so I know it makes a difference. Anyone know the answer on this?
