one thing that i have been wondering about the ear shave maybe you or someone else can answer, there are two black hoses dead center between the carbs between the fuel lines, they were not hooked up to anything before the ear shave, im assuming they are the carb vent tubes, they dont stick out past the carbs so they aren't in the way of anything, would it be a bad idea to just leave them or is it a "must" that i hook them both up to a filter?
