Plus, I've never ridden up there in the home country (Missouri) but I plan to make a trip up there one of these years. My home is Joplin and my kin folk settled in Iberia in the early 1800's so there's lots of history in my family up around there.
Seriously, glad you had a nice time and some great weather for riding!
Right there with you, Fergy. I was riding all last week, but that 30 mph crosswind was nuts. I had the same experience you did - the ride into the office at 0700 was fine. The ride home was "interesting"...

Missouri has some great roads especially in the Lake Ozark area (which includes Iberia). Nice curves and beautiful scenery. Ive lived in the Wimberly TX. area and it had some nice roads as well. Have you ridden in Arkansas?

First Ride of the Year

I actually got out Saturday in Syracuse NY as well, low 60's and cloudy but first ride of the season and it felt GREAT! Probably just a teaser though knowing Syracuse, so I'll just have to envy you guys that live in warmer climates for another month or two.

LibertyPilot I was out yesterday for a while. It was 70 in Philly and overcast but the rain never came. Still nice and warm too! I rode to the airport, jumped in the heli, flew -doors off- to another airport, landed, coincidentally met an old friend there who wanted to have lunch, jumped back in the bird, flew back to my airport, put the bird in the barn, jumped BACK on the bike, rode to the other airport, and me and my old buddy got burgers at our old stomping grounds. I had a blast!! Now if only I can figure a way to get the Heli to haul Sable around I'll be set...

I know it has been great. I was out of town on Wed. Thurs. & got back Friday afternoon. We rode to California (MO) for dinner it was our first night ride this year and the temp was 65! I was wishing we lived in St. Louis today cuz it was very very windy here in Jamestown and cold too. Watch out its coming your way...

Knifemaker St.Louis is "cental missouri" and yes, Friday ,Saturday, and Today have been fabulous. A bit gusty, but temps hit 80 the last two days and in it is a perfect sunny day today also.

I rode to work thursday. The temp was 51 in the morning and got to the upper 70's for the ride home.
Friday 60 in the morning and I had to pull the liner out of my jacket for the ride home.
Saturday put in a few hundred miles ...(gotta keep that battery charged up you know)
Hopefully the rest of the week will be simular.........

shark88 I was able to get out a little Friday, only put 40 miles on, but it felt great. It was the first ride with my new (used) Corbin seat. It really makes a difference.

msh1156 Oh yes.... The Charlotte, NC area was blessed with two days of upper 70's, sunny weather. I put on a couple hundred more miles just riding around, going to the store, goofin' off. Someday I hope to get up with some other local riders for a nice trip like yours. I mean there are enough of them.... if I didn't count or wave to 100 bikers I'll eat my over-pants. Beautiful two days.

Yesterday was GREAT!

Yesterday was cloudy and warm but a little breezy. Me on my V and Jim on his Star rode 200 miles through the hills of mizery and it was anything but (misery)! We took off from Jamestown on scenic 179 then the back roads to Meta, St. Elizabeth, and Iberia. Then on to Crocker and Waynesville for some lunch. We took off from Waynesville on Hwy 7 to Camdenton and the Lake Ozark area with our customary stop at the Leather Man shop where I bought this shirt that said: if you can read this you've just been passed by a chick. I couldn't resist. We got back right after dark. Not a bad day for the first week of March. Did anyone else get and enjoy the weather?
