denny6006 I bought a new digital voltmeter to replace that lying analog one and it is lit in blue as is my radio. I am wanting to replace the white lights in my tach with blue LED as well as the ones in the speedo . I wonder how much that blue light will affect my night vision . I figure as long as they aren't flashing behind me I'll be good to go, those make me nervous.

kanuck69 Lol, I didn't break anything. Just look at the exploded view. It is made to be changed. It's just not super easy.

how did you get it apart and did you break anything while doing so

crowley1027 I took the whole dash out and will fab some small compartment for the lights, and they won't be labeled (even though I have them tape-labeled for now) so I need some color difference.

kanuck69 I did it & loved it. But I'm partial to red.

ArkTinkerer Has anyone tried red LEDs for the dash? We use red lights for astronomy since they don't cause the eye to dilate like the other colors. If you did, any issues with their use?

michiganteddybear superbrightleds while not the cheapest, has good selection of leds (possibly too much, as its hard for me to decide which to order), as well as a good cross reference for various bulbs

crowley1027 I just looked for t10 wedge base led on eBay and picked up ten for 1.78

They won't come til after Christmas... But for two dollars, can't beat it.

They only had green and yellow, but other vendors have all colors

Where did you get the bulbs and what colors do they come in? I need to change several lights out on my dash.

michiganteddybear if they are automotive wedge base, as long as they are the right size, they are plug and play. some will only work one way, some will work either (depends on the LED itself, wether or not its wired internally to make non-polarity sensitive.) if you plug one in, and it don't work, just turn it around. they are usually not harmed by reverse polarity
