Knifemaker This is a common problem. Most fix this just getting a larger diameter bolt, and drilling out the hole round again with a step drill.

michiganteddybear mine is similar.. yes, the hole in the side stand is elongated on mine. toyed with the idea of drilling out the hole and putting is a bushing so it matches the body of the bolt, but have decided to leave it as is.

No kidding on that spring.

sounds like the hole the sidestand bracket may be worn elongated.You might ought set it on the centestand and remove the bolt and see if it is worn,the bolt and the hole. A little movement is normal but if it feels like it is going to lay down,check it out watch for the spring it has a bit of pressure on it. Easier to take apart when it is folded up against the frame.

One of the most overlooked points to lube on a bike.

Loose side stand

I was thinking my bike leans pretty far over on her side stand. When extended, the tip of the stand has about 2inches of up/down play. Is this normal? The play is at the pivot point;the bracket is not loose.
