|newvn750owner||you can always use a vac pump to bleed the brakes as well. i think the mighty vac pump is only about 35-40 bucks. i still hate to hear that you had to replace the whole system. keep in mind that what goes around comes around. maybe his toilet will back up at his house and the plumber will be able to retire when he finishes with the guy|

I completly drained my brake system and then refilled with new brake fluid. I must have bled the brake system about 16 times and there was still an air bubble in the system somewhere. I finally got frustrated and let the bike just sit overnight and then rode it the next morning. The brakes were spongy at first and then firmed up and have been great ever since. I believe that there is a place in the master cylinder where an air bubble gets lodged and no amount of bleeding will remove it. I noticed that if I tapped on the cylinder with the lid off, I could see air bubble up from the opening where the brake piston sits. This was after going through about a can and a half of brake fluid trying to get rid of the air. The vibration from multiple brake handle pulls and the road I believe finally disloged it so that the brakes work fine. You may want to try this after your mech friend refills the system for the last time.
Rapidly pull and release the brake lever for about 2-3 minutes and then take it for a short ride somewhere with little to no traffic and again exercise the brake lever. I think you will find that the problem will solve itself once that pesky air bubble is jarred loose.
BTW, mine is also a 93.

|Crobins365||I was gonna suggest just doing 'em yourself. Here's a link to the Verses on bleeding the lines (https://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1069). Some rubber tubing, a bottle for the fluid, some new Dot 3 or 4 fluid, and something to tie back the brake lever is just about all you'll need. Perhaps you need to invite your mechanic over??|

|Kys||ok guys, i'm back to square 1. 5 weeks and $1100.00 later and an entire new brake system from master cylinder to replacing the calipers and everything in between and the mechanic still cant get the brakes to bleed??? this guy owns a large shop and has a big buisness and I think he knows his stuff but maybe not his vulcans. I am very frustrated and can't afford a new bike. Any suggestions?|
