mnmkiller I never expected to find that parts bike. I was also having a problem with second gear. That was solved also. Mike

Crobins365 Congrats! I probably should have done something like that, but am still looking at a torn-down engine in my garage - counterbalancer is reassembled, just need to install it. Never occurred to me to just get a new engine!!

It lives again.(was the fatal breakdown)

My counterbalencer went on my bike. I was going to sell it as a parts bike. I was on E-Bay and won a parts bike for $336. The odometer said 5200 miles on it. It was sitting for 11 years. Anyway I swapped engines and it is running excellent plus I now have a lot of parts. Got lucky I was afraid the rings might be stuck. You'd be surprised how many critters live in a bike that sat for 11 years LOL. Mike '89 vn 750
