I did, but the last time I ordered from Ayers, it was about 3 weeks until I got the parts. PM me and let me know what you want for it - a gasket in-hand beats sitting around my garage.

Woody Doesn't look to bad to me, yep just spray with some carg cleaner and I know you'll be using seafoam to keep it clean.

Crobins365 Yeah, might as well - it's certainly easier now than if I'd have to pull 'em off later.

Hey, CManning - nice pic!! Congrats on being a new Grandpa!!!

JamieB Looks like varnish to me. Since you have it off though it might not hurt to squirt it with some carb cleaner.

Double Trouble

Well, well, well...they didn't empanel me for jury duty today, so I decided that the 2001 needed to be worked on (I'm still waiting for that rotor puller to carry on my work with Orleans). Ta-da!! This tearing down stuff is getting easier and easier! Wonder if I'll be able to put the two Humpties back together again?

Anyway, it'll be like this for a little while because, like Piro, I forgot to order a stator gasket. On the positive side, I have both an r/r and replacement stator in hand.

But while we're at it...can someone look at the piston pic for the carb and tell me what's goin' on there? Is that just varnish, or do I have to rebuild these carbs, too?
