Ccspinner That is correct you can only have one ear with a speaker or earphne.
I got Rumbel Road speakers for my 750, they work great.

rckmtn I just read today that only one ear could have a speaker in Il. i don't know if it was true or not but found this while looking for helmet intercoms.

Hizzo3 not sure on the legality of mine, but mine also double as ear plugs. I use the in canal kind, and i think they are great. I'd say they are comparable to the 15db reduction headphones. Plus the sound is unbelevable. Maybe one day i might spring for the $200 set, these are the $35 sonys.

hyperbuzzin Here in PA, it's only legal to have headphones for communication reasons.
The AMA site seems to be down for maintenance, or is really busy with the warmer temps arriving, but another site said, for Illinois, headphones are only legal when mounted in the helmet (which isn't required for riding)

Legal to use mp3 in Illinois?

Rather than buy a expensive sound system for my bike, I was wondering if it was legal to just use a mp3 player instead (I alread have one) in Illinois?

Or if you have a suggestion as to where I might search for the info?

Edit: http://www.law4hogs.com/law.html found a web site with all states and other traveling info some may want to know like helmet law states etc...
