Rubline I had the same problem with my 06. Couldnt get it off to save my life. The next time I was in the neighbor hood, I had the dealer remove it. Then I put neversieze on the threads.

hyperbuzzin If it's that tight, I don't know if I'd try using the key just yet.
But definatley give it a shot of some penetrating oil. If ya have an impact screwdriver (the kind ya wack with a hammer), that should bust it loose.

My guess is the guy who tightened them bolts on the assembly line was ticked off that the spline lube guy got to sleep on the job, so he really cranked 'em down! LOL

Crobins365 Try a good sploot of Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster, and then use your ignition key...oddly, the key is made to fit that slot. But the LW or PB should help a lot.

Help.....Side cover bolt

Does anybody have any ideas for getting that *@^%#*#% side cover bolt off my 2006 750 bike? It's the cross or T type bolt holding the side cover on & the S.O.B. won't budge! I tried a very large flat screwdriver with a crecent wrench on it & it still won't come off. I am afraid of breaking it off if I get any more aggressive.

Thanks Tcat
