Deviate She is back and better than ever! While I was waiting on the petcock I pulled the spark plugs and cleaned them off so I can check them again after a bit and see if I need to adjust the air/fuel mix screws any. She cranked up easier than ever. She runs really great now. So glad I did the ear shave and went through all of the carbs. I feel like I know the bike better than ever now.

I'm still planning on doing the pickup coil mod some day, but for now I'm just going to ride her.

Deviate The new petcock should be here today! Hopefully by this evening the bike will be back up and running.

Oh the anticipa

Deviate Got her all put back together tonight, got some gas and filled her up. Cranked...and cranked....and cranked...and FIRED UP! Had to adjust my idle a little bit then took her for a ride. Had to adjust the idle back down a little. lol But she is running so nice. I need to play around and tweak everything to make sure it's all zeroed in but so far I love what I'm seeing and hearing.

There's always an issue though. My petcock is leaking like a screen bottom boat. So since the screen is screwed up anyway and I decided not to buy any fuel filters yet, I ordered a new petcock from Ron Ayers. I didn't see anywhere that they had a part for just the main housing that contains the screens so I'll get a whole new deal.

So the bike is still gonna be down for a bit but once I get that petcock it will be running like it was meant to. Now maybe it's time to go ahead and do that pickup coil mod....

Chris32250 I think KC meant 2 filters... 1 for each Carb

kc2dgq 1 fuel line per carb....fuel only flows when vacuum is applied to the petcock.
each position on the petcock has it's own internal screen.

so...yes you would need 2 filters

Deviate Can someone confirm for me how the petcock works? There are 2 fuel lines and 1 vacuum hose coming off of the petcock. Regardless of whether the petcock is in the ON or RES position, fuel would come out of both of those fuel lines, right? I just want to make sure, cause that would mean I need 2 fuel filters to make up for my torn petcock screen...or else never switch to RES again.
