|TSmith68||I put on a set of stock sized Shinko Tourmaster tires on mine, and I'm impressed with them. They were a little slippery at first, and after 20 or so miles they seemed to be fine. I can lay mine over and drag the pegs, and it feels safe and stable. It handles really good for mid entry tires. I'm a big guy, 300 pounds, and I can throw it around with ease and not worry about it coming out from under me.|

Do a search on youtube for brand new gixxer crash, this can happen with new tyres.
Like already said above, gently on the throttle the first few rides.

^ what he said.
"some" new tires are a bit slippery at first. Folks used to say it was do to the release agent the maker used to pull the tires from the mold. Bike tire makers tell us they don't use any release agents.... But new rubber is very smooth and can have less grip than the same tire after 100 miles of riding.
So... To be safe , take it easy as suggested for at least 80-100 miles.

|Deviate||I was in a similar situation when i got my new tires. Based on different things I had read, I just rode like I was riding in the rain for about 150 miles. Basically you want to see some wear (scuffed-like) on the tread instead of it being shiny black. You need to take some turns and lean some to scuff the whole tread, but take it easier in corners and all until you have a good feel for the tires even if they are the same as what you replaced. New tires feel different, but you get used to them pretty quick.|

New Tires Installed
Just a newbie question. I got my new tires on yesterday. Is there anything special that needs to be done (or not done) with new tires? Ride easy? Ride different for certain number of miles?
