| suitcasejefferson | I have always mounted and balanced my own tires without any problems. There is no motorcycle shop in my town i would trust. From what I've heard, most places require you to buy the tire from them to mount it. I don't trust shops. They usually do more harm than good. |

| skyboxer | If you were near me, I would do it for a six pack of beer and a handshake, then split the beer with ya. But you would have to get a couple of bottles of ride-on to balance it. |

Well here is what I have found after making a few phone calls. Dealer: Bring in the wheel and tire $42.00 Local Indy shop: bring me the bike and new tire $50 The local shop has a goo reputation and I have dealt with him before on another older bike, I am leaning toward the extra $8 to him. while he has it there I am going to have him replace the o-ring on the spline and lube them Travis |

Yup...been doing my own since the 70s...on my cars and trucks too...lotta times you can find a set of old irons at a flea market or yard sale cheap...most are too lazy nowadays to do it themselves, lol...or grandpa died, and they had no idea what "them things" were when they were sellin off his stuff... |

When I took mine to the Kawasaki shop they charged me $35 per tire and put metal 90* valve stems in for me. That was me pulling the wheels myself and taking them in: mounting, balancing and disposal of the old tire. Depending on where you bought the tire from, they may offer a list of "preferred" installers in your area. Call around for the best price. Car tire shops typically won't touch a motorcycle tire. If you have a couple of tire irons, you could do it yourself. I didn't have the tools to do it or I would have done it myself. Next time I definitely will. |

20-35 bucks... Includes disposal off old tire, and balance. Be a good time to install an angled valve stem BTW... |
