tomdag Also, I noticed that you have metzlers 880s and you have oversized? What does that mean and how do oversized tires perform? Do you get a different ride with larger tires?

tomdag Thanks for the advice. I wil check out the archives and the metzlers!

km60155 tomdag, head over to the "newbie check-in" and tell us a little about yourself. It is a good place to get started. As for your tires, Metzelers are generally regarded as the best, but some other members like Pirellis, Kendas, Dunlops, and probably some others too. As johnm said, there is a lot of information on tires here already, you just have to look around... But check-in first.

johnm Hey TD, welcome to the forum.

There's lots of helpful folks on this site and I'm sure someone will be happy to answer your post. There's also lots of information in the archives on this very topic. Click on the "Forum" link at the top left and then on the section entitled "Wheels, suspension and Brakes" for previous threads.

"Best" is somewhat subjective and there are many opinions about what tires are "best" for our bikes. I certainly am no authority on the subject, but in my own research many seem to regard the Metzler brand as one of the "best." You'll also have to factor in what you're willing to pay. There are some other very good brands out there with price tags that are a little easier on the pocketbook.

So, do your homework. Certainly get other opinions. But "best" is really something only you can answer. Good luck in your search.

Tires for 2002 VN750

I just bought a Vulcan 750 and it needs tires. I am getting back into biking after a 20 year layoff. I have hard that you should always buy the best tires that you can afford. What would anyone recommend as the best tires? Where should I go to buy them? on line?
