rerb The lines are straight and don't seem to be prone to any damages, as there's another rubber hose guard on top of the cable as well. I think I'll cut the springs off and just inspect the cables after a while to make sure they're not being damaged. Thanks!

Knifemaker They are there for two purposes, one to shield the cable from being abraded from rubbing against something and two, to prevent the hose from being kinked somehow.

If your cable is prone to either of these along its route, you could find alternative methods to protect it.

ubertalldude I think they're to keep the lines from getting pinched/abraded by the triple tree maybe? Might just be aesthetic, though. If they're rusty you might could just mask the area off and spray 'em black, but that would probably look bad after the rubber hoses flexed. Other option is to just remove them from the hoses. They really don't seem to be essential for the brakes to function.

VN750Rider/Jerry The springs are part of the brake hoses, and cannot be replaced separately. The hoses are nearly $100 apiece new. None of my other 3 motorcycles have these springs. Not sure what their purpose is.

Brake line springs

Does anyone know where I can find the springs that are on the front brake lines? Mine are rusted and I want to clean up the look of the bike. Thanks!
